Did you know fruit juice may cause uric acid
Why do many people do not eat seafood or drink alcohol, but the #uric acid still cannot be reduced?
There is one thing in our lives that can raise uric acid, but is easily overlooked, that is fruit juice.
Researchers in Boston, US spent 22 years investigating the dietary status of 80,000 women. The study found that women who drank 1 cup of orange juice daily increased their risk of gout by 41%; while those who drank 2 cups daily increased their risk of gout by more than 2.4 times. An Australian study published in the Journal of Appetite in 2015 also found that people who drink fruit juice every day have a significantly higher aortic pressure by 3-4mmHg, which may increase the incidence of hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
Fruit juice contains a lot of fructose. The decomposition process of fructose in the body will produce uric acid directly, which is also one of the causes of gout. Fructose can also reduce renal uric acid excretion, which further increases uric acid in the body. In addition to interfering with the purine metabolism, fructose also interferes with the insulin metabolism. If too much fructose in the body, insulin resistance occurs and may leads to diabetes in the long run.
Therefore, fresh fruit cannot be replaced by fruit juice, and you should eat 2 fists-size a day. If you really need to drink fruit juice but suffering from dental problems or other factors, remember to blend fresh fruit, without filtering residue and no sugar added.
