Protecting our retina
The retina is a layer of nerve membrane responsible for the light reception in the eye. It is filled with many photoreceptor cells, allowing us to perceive light and colors and enable us to see things. Since the retina is constantly working, an adequate blood supply is very important. However, the nicotine in cigarettes tends to cause blood vessels to constrict. Once the blood vessels are blocked, the retina becomes hypoxic and one is prompted to the potential of sudden vision loss, which is known as ocular stroke.
Therefore, we must ensure a smooth blood circulation, expel the excess fat or toxins accumulated in the blood vessels, and restore the elasticity of the blood vessels.
