Caffeine and osteoporosis
Caffeine has a diuretic effect, causes water excretion from the body and the loss of electrolytes such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Therefore, caffeine is listed as a risk factor for osteoporosis. Therefore, it is recommended that women with osteoporosis or menopause should not drink more than 2 cups of coffee a day (a cup of 240 cc of coffee contains about 100 mg of caffeine) to reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
