Minerals and Trace Elements
Worldwide, over 800 million people suffer from malnutrition, and more than 2 billion people have one or more chronic micronutrient deficiency disorders (MND). When our diet lacks minerals and trace elements, health problems such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and hormonal imbalances can occur, all closely related to mineral deficiencies.
This is because our soil, water, and air can only provide limited nutrients for our food chain. Crops grow in polluted environments, with the use of pesticides, fertilizers, antibiotics, and growth hormones, coupled with short planting cycles, leading to numerous debates about the adequacy of their nutrition.
However, the quality of minerals available in our food has significantly decreased. Even with a regular diet, you may still be unable to meet the body’s mineral requirements. Fast food and processed foods increase the risk of MND diseases in our society.
